What is Project CONNECTS?

group of diverse students in a library

Project CONNECTS (Co-Creating Open Networks for Nurturing Engagement, Collaboration & Trust with Schools) supports families and schools in building strong partnerships that help students with disabilities succeed, especially during middle and high school transition years.

We focus on clear communication, shared understanding, and practical support across home and school.

What We Do

Project CONNECTS provides practical supports that help families and schools work together more effectively.

Training

Learning opportunities for families and educators that focus on communication, collaboration, and transition planning.

Resources & Tools

Clear, easy-to-use materials that help families and schools make informed decisions together.

Coaching & Technical Assistance

Ongoing support that helps schools and partners strengthen systems and sustain effective family engagement.

Why Family–School Partnerships Matter

When families and schools work together, students experience stronger academic, social, and emotional outcomes. These partnerships become even more important during middle and high school, when expectations increase, and systems are harder to navigate.

Project CONNECTS centers this work so families feel supported and schools feel prepared to engage as true partners.

Looking Ahead

  • Early 2026: Release of new resources for families and schools
  • 2026–2028: Implementation of middle and high school partnership models
